Meet the Team
Kath Shackleton

Kath Shackleton

Producer

Kath Shackleton is Fettle’s hardworking, enthusiastic producer.  She loves bringing new projects to the studio, keeping clients and staff happy and delivering everything to schedule and to budget, with plenty of creative sparkle and impact.

Kath has a flair for organising creative projects.  She gets out and about, always learning new things, networking and meeting new people.

Kath worked for over twelve years as a local government arts development officer, organising projects, advising on and distributing funding and creating initiatives to support and develop artists across four different local authorities.  Kath gained strong connections, a powerful network, solid project management skills, collaborative working skills, a passion for helping disadvantaged communities, tenacity to bring ideas from concept to reality plus an ability to see creative possibilities where others may see just red tape!

Kath started out working as puppeteer – working with theatre companies, as a street performer and working with young people to create community puppet performances.  She also trained as a part time youth and community worker, and still retains her commitment to making work to engage and inspire young people.

Kath turned to animation, after Zane and her started their own family, and wanted to create a family run business. Kath ran three animation networks Ay-UP!, Animated Yorkshire and All Animated, to support animation artists in Yorkshire and the north of England, plus Zoom Animation, running animation projects in museums and schools.

On being asked to create animated documentaries for local authorities, Kath realised the extent of Zane’s great talent in animation, and thus Fettle Animation came into being.

Over the past ten years, Fettle has gone from strength to strength.

She’s really proud of what Fettle has achieved.
