History animation
Extract from a 2d animation made for Hull Heritage Learning for their Hull Curriculum schools' history website.
This animation is voiced by lovely pupils from St George's Primary School Hull
How Hull has developed as a city
Hayley and Jacob, two curious children discover the history of their city.
This animation looks at how Hull grew from a series of medieval villages, to a bustling port and now a modern day city.
It features key figures from the heritage of the city including King Edward, the Monks of Beverley, the merchant Benjamin Blaydes and Henry the Eighth.
Animation magic!
Using the magic of animation, Hayley and Jacob can become time travellers! They can jump around on maps, grow big and small, watch buildings appear (and disappear) and join in with historical events.
Through this interactive approach, children can genuinely understand how the environment that they take for granted around them has taken shape.
