Our animation studio is in the beautiful rural West Yorkshire village of Marsden.
We are nestled in the hills between Leeds, Huddersfield, Sheffield and Manchester.
We’re on the Pennine Way on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

We’re a well connected animation studio!
We’ve been in the business a long time – we know everyone in the business!
Having our animation studio in the countryside we can truly have it all!
A more peaceful and community centred way of life, with lovely bike rides and walks in the countryside.
Real ales, artisan foods, creative spirit and music all around us!
However – we’re also fully modern with high speed internet, trains, motorways, ferries and airports all close at hand.
You really can make animation from anywhere these days!
We get out and about to meet as many people as we possibly can – with regular trips to London, Bristol and to UK, European and US animation market events.
We keep strong networks in the animation and creative industries and beyond and we often give talks about our work and speak on panels and help on juries for industry events.
The latest digital animation tools

We love our digital tools in our animation studio!
Our studio has custom built computers for our specialist workflow and we use the latest Adobe Creative Suite software.
We’re developing new specialist pipelines working with Toon Boom Animation.
We’re using Slack, Trello, Zoom and the latest Microsoft and Google communication tools.
We’re loving planning and managing our projects with these and using them fully to keep in touch with our customers and give the best possible service.
The journey for every project starts with pen and paper
With the help of our trusty Wacom Cintiq we draw directly into the computer.

FAQs
Fettle’s 2D animation is hand drawn, stylised, cartoon-like and vector-based. 3D animation is computer generated and often more photo-realistic than 2d animation. It is often more expensive to produce than 2D animation, and production can take longer. It uses more computing power to produce and production can have a larger carbon footprint. Traditional stop-motion animation such as Aardman animations’ Wallace and Gromit by Nick Parks were originally made in plasticine and filmed frame by frame, although in recent times these have combined with 3D digital techniques.
The UK animation scene is changing all the time. We admire the work of Blue Zoo Animation, Lupus Films, Moth Collective, Aardman Animations and VFX companies like Framestore.
