Shakespeare 400 events with Kirklees Libraries

Happy Birthday William Shakespeare!

We came together with our friends at Kirklees Libraries for two special events to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare and his birthday in April this year.

People from all over the area came to free events to see our animated adaptations of 6 popular Shakespeare plays plus a question and answer session about how the animation was made.  Check out our animations on the playlist below!

The Libraries also hosted a fun Shakespeare Colouring Competition.  Kids all over Kirklees coloured and brought their imaginative touches to bringing Shakespeare up to date.

Here’s just a selection of what people achieved. Glad we delegated the judging to librarians as everybody’s work was just gorgeous – we couldn’t choose between them!

Thankyou so much to everyone who took part and to Kirklees’ fabulous librarians who arranged and promoted this so beautifully and were so fair with their judging.  Thankyou also to Reader Development Officer Diane Green for organising.
