Client Testimonials

We worked with Fettle Animation to put together two animated shorts, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of our company. Kath and the team produced two very different videos, each with a distinct and quirky style – which is what we wanted. Working with Fettle was straight-forward and pleasant, but always professional. They have a strong desire to create the perfect end-product and this they achieved. We were really pleased with the results.

James Spencer, Managing Director, Portland Fuel.

Our project can hardly have been a large order for Fettle Animation, but they have given it all the attention we could have wished for.  Their creative flair has been matched throughout by attention to detail, prompt and helpful communication and timely delivery of the end product.   Kath and Ryan have been a pleasure to work with.

Bill Cleghorn, WOOFYT Project

Fettle Animation brought a real visual understanding to what we provided to be animated. The voices we recorded were of children expressing their concerns about a difficult issue and the team worked hard to really capture the essence of that in imaginative ways. The films have been a really useful tool in our work as they illustrate some complex ideas in a really engaging way.

Giles Dilnot, Office of the Children’s Commissioner

My experience of working with Fettle has been fantastic from start to finish. I’ve been impressed at every stage of the process by their creativity and their attention to detail. We set them what might have seemed to some an impossible challenge – to create two, two minute animations based on the longest and most complex surviving ancient Greek epic poems – but they approached the brief with enthusiasm, good humour and patience. I’m delighted with the end product – thank you, Kath and team, for being a joy to work with!

Dr. Emma Bridges, The Open University

Fettle is everything a small animation studio should be: creative, reliable, personable and well connected.

Gary Thomas - Associate Director, Animate Projects

It’s always a pleasure to work with the award winning Fettle Animation. Kath and her team are very creative, hard working and always hit the agreed deadlines. Fettle did all the animation for one of our children’s documentaries, My Life: Marvellous Messy Minds and it has been nominated for many awards – Mind; RTS and Broadcast.

Cat Lewis, Nine Lives Media

Fettle Animation is a fabulous company. Their creative capacity is clear from the prestigious awards they’ve collected over the years. The team process great narrative skills and tell important stories with sensitivity and wit. It’s great to work with them and both Zane and Kath contribute hugely to the training and development of the next generation of animators.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Fettle Animation on India Rocks. They brought a genuine curiosity to the project. We recorded the voiceover on a beautifully hot Saturday in April at their studio, high up in Marsden. The ideas, images and metaphors started to take shape and before long we had India Rocks. Their warmth and flexibility is what made the process so effortless. I look forward to the next one.

I had the pleasure of working with Fettle Animation in 2015 when we produced the music video Smalltown Boy by Heavyball. From the outset Kath, Zane and the team at Fettle were amazing. Where others had turned me down because of the ambition of the video Kath and Zane relished the challenge and played a huge part in its success. They took the seed of an initial idea and working with the director and the band made it flower into something beyond my expectations. What Fettle delivered exceeded the budget and the time they were given to deliver; character design, animation and story telling. It’s not hard to see why the company have won so many awards. I highly recommend Fettle Animation as both a great company to work with and as great people to work with.

Edward Lee, Magnetic North Melodies

The Fettle team have created one of the most innovative methods of Holocaust learning ever – to animate the experiences of our elderly Holocaust survivor members, to help future generations learn the sad lessons of the Holocaust in such a dignified and historically accurate way, is just amazing. We are delighted with the results and highly commend Fettle Animation to any organisation wishing to communicate difficult and sensitive issues to a wider audience in today’s world. Well done and thank you for looking after our survivors so well and contributing to our legacy going forward.

I loved working with Fettle Animation on the video for my single, ‘Dog’. The team really understood what I was trying to convey with the song; I felt that they’d gone right inside my head for a poke around when I saw the look and feel of the video and all the small details that made it extra special. Thanks to Fettle’s hard work, my song has been able to reach even more people around the world than the song might have reached on its own, helping me to connect with new audiences and making lots of people smile – and even cry. I’ve had more positive feedback on this video than on any of my others to date.It reached 50,000 youtube views within its first week of release.

We have always found Fettle Animation a pleasure to work with in delivering great creative storyboards to time and budget with no drama or fuss. We have worked together on various projects and their creative interpretation of our briefs have helped convey to our tier 1 clients a clear understanding of the consumer experiences our mobile technology solutions deliver. This is of great benefit to us as we are able to bring to life early stage often complex consumer technology experiences.

Fettle Animation were engaged by CBeebies In-House Production to provide artwork and a short taster film for one of our development priorities. The team at Fettle totally understood the tone and creative brief from the outset and supplied the most beautiful and characterful artwork which was wholly in tune with the development team’s vision for the series. The character designs were witty and distinctive and worked extremely well against the highly textured and vibrant backgrounds. The combined result was charming. Fettle are passionate not only about animation but also about story telling. They are collaborative and flexible in their approach and will find the right workflow and animation pipeline for the very specific needs of individual projects. Although they are a relatively new company, they are certainly one to watch out for.  I wish Fettle the best of luck and look forward to opportunities to work with them in the future.

Tony Reed, Executive Producer, CBeebies In-House Production

This is the third time we have worked with Fettle Animation and the dedication they put into their work, under very tight deadlines, is incredible. Kath & Zane are great people to work with and the final outcome is always better than what we imagined going in to the project. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Karen Wright, Senior Marketing and Communications Executive, Covea Insurance

Working with Fettle Animation on our ‘Here Is A Man/Lifetime Big Questions’ animated video was a pleasure from the word go. Kath and Zane were top drawer in their proposals and delivery of the project. We couldn’t be more happier with the outcome. It is a piece of art with a very important message.

Andrew Lodge - Social Media Manager, Lifetime FM

Zane was a great person to have on Animate Project’s Test Flight writing workshops at the Jerwood Space, London. He contributed a great deal, took on ideas and feedback, and used the programme to create a pacy and witty new script – a story well-told – with lots of elegant visual gags, and an unexpected, beautifully drawn-out conclusion. Lovely work.

Tony White, Writer, Course Leader Test Flight Animate Projects December 2012 - February 2013

I just wanted to pass on a huge thank you for all your work on the War Within exhibition. The animation has been created with great empathy for the subject, it is beautifully crafted – and above all it is incredibly moving. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Karen Whitting, Head of Creative Programmes, Royal Armouries Leeds

The Digital Fiction Factor approached Fettle for their experience in animation, to create an innovative video animatic to bring a story to life.  The brief was challenging as it asked to communicate a story in visual terms, but without being indicative of a visual style for the story.  Fettle did a good job of breaking down the brief and creating an animatic that effectively communicated the story.  With a tight deadline, the team at Fettle did a great job of turning the brief around, and were a pleasure to work with throughout.

Ian Wareing, Producer, Digital, The Digital Fiction Factory

It was a pleasure to work with Fettle.  They took a tricky brief and turned it into an imaginative and engaging animation for us. Moreover, they did a great job under hideous time pressure and managed to come up with the goods on time and to budget.  We also worked together to compile some short interviews into a watchable format and Kath worked all hours to make sure it happen. Thank you for all your hard work, the whole team is delighted with the end results.

Fiona Cooper, Project Co-ordinator Warmer Homes, Marsden and Slaithwaite Transition Towns

I initially met the guys at Fettle on a personal level. I was inspired by their passion for animation and saw from them a definite appreciation for the various processes involved in creating good work with commercial sensibilities. I wanted to work with them from that moment and when the opportunity came up, I felt very confident in their ability to fulfil the brief. I was impressed by their commitment to the job, with their experience and expertise coming across in the interaction we had and also in the final work. I look forward to working with them again.

Kath worked with an energetic group of young people in Adswood, Stockport. They really enjoyed being introduced to different types of animation techniques and were really proud of their achievements at the “premiere” of their films.  Kath was really engaging and flexible with the children and their varied interests. She was also a great mentor to a young graduate artist and some volunteers from the club.
